In spite of best efforts to control climate change, irresponsible actors and those indifferent to the climate emergency continue to complicate efforts to keep our planet optimally liveable. Hence, sustainability is of greater importance today than ever before, and forms part of David’s commitments, but also way of life.

David is a member of multiple institutions in Beijing where his work/research involves sustainability, notably sustainable infrastructure and urbanisation. A key part of this involves the development of sustainable transport networks as well as a more environment-aware form of urbanisation — in harmony with nature, rather than endless urban expansion.
馮琰參與中國北京多家組織，在其內負責進行有關可持續發展研究等工作，以可持續發展與基礎設施/城鎮化尤甚。其中幹，這項工作重要組成部分即爲對可持續發展有利的交通網，及城鎮化中如何更加實現人與自然共同更加和諧發展。

David’s Beijing-based sustainability projects also continue beyond the border, with a particular focus on those in the neighbouring countries of China and Switzerland. These include EU/EEA and “Belt and Road” economies. A new blog, Sustainable Mileage will also record sustainable infrastructure and urbanisation in the world.
